CAZN | M8 6-Pin A-Coded Connector

Oct 10, 2026

The M8 6-pin A-coded connector is a compact industrial interconnection solution compliant with IEC 61076-2-104. Designed for multi-signal transmission in space-constrained applications, it features an M8 × 1 threaded locking mechanism and A-coded keying to prevent mismating with B-coded or D-coded M8 connectors. Its primary advantage is reliable transmission of six independent signal circuits within the compact M8 form factor.

Key Electrical Specifications

Pin Count: 6-pin, A-coded

Rated Voltage: 30 V AC/DC

Rated Current: 1.5 A per contact; contact resistance ≤ 5 mΩ; total current not exceeding 4 A. Due to reduced contact spacing, the 6-pin version has a lower current rating than 3-pin and 4-pin models.

Protection Rating: IP67 when properly mated and locked, providing protection against dust ingress and temporary immersion under specified conditions.

Wire Gauge: Typically 0.14 mm² (26 AWG), with 0.25 mm² (24 AWG) also available.

Operating Temperature: -40°C to +80°C

Contacts: Gold-plated copper, with a mating cycle life of at least 500 cycles.

Construction: Available in shielded and unshielded versions.

Male and female contact layouts are mirror images of each other. The A-coded keying feature prevents incorrect mating, allowing the connector to mate only with compatible 6-pin M8 A-coded connectors, not B-coded or D-coded M8 connectors.

Available Connector Configurations

Molded Cable Type: Available with straight or 90-degree angled connectors and PVC or PUR cables. The cable and connector are integrally molded at the factory, making this the most common configuration.

Field-Wireable Type: Designed for on-site wiring without injection molding, making it suitable for commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Panel-Mount Receptacles: Available in front-mount or rear-mount panel configurations, as well as PCB surface-mount (SMD) and solder-pin versions for direct integration into equipment circuit boards.

Male and Female Versions: Available with male contacts (pins) or female contacts (sockets) to meet different connection requirements.

Typical Applications

The M8 6-pin A-coded connector is a high-density interface for low-power signals, commonly used in:

  • Compact rotary encoders

  • Multi-channel sensors and measurement probes

  • Miniature industrial cameras and electrostatic eliminators

  • IO-Link modules for multi-signal acquisition

  • Signal connections in equipment with extremely limited installation space

  • Signal interfaces for compact actuators

  • Multi-channel signal interconnections where a smaller alternative to larger M12 multi-pin connectors is preferred
